Protective film for first-floor windows
Hey everyone, I need some advice on securing the windows on the first floor. Last week, in the nine-story building next door, some kids were playing with a ball and accidentally smashed the window in the living room. My kids are always running around in the yard, too, so I’ve really started thinking about how to protect my windows from accidental impacts or flying debris. I’ve heard about special films that hold the shards together and keep them from scattering all over the room. Has anyone installed these? Do they actually work? And I forgot to ask—do they make the room darker? I don’t want to live in a lightless bunker.
